"er .. r4 `- t ~ DANNY R. EDWARDS COUNTY JUDGE, KERR COUNTY KERRVILLE, TEXAS 78028 EX-OFFICIO COUNTY SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT December 18, 1987 Mr. Bill Tucker Supr. Resident Engineer State Department of Highways and Transportation P. O. Box 951 Kerrville, Texas 78029-0951 PHONE: 512.257-671 t Re: 1987-91 Off State System Federal-Aid Bridge Replacement and Rehabilitaion Program Dear Mr. Tucker: This will acknowledge receipt of your letter dated December 14, 1987 in connection with the captioned program. We understand that Kerr County has been granted three (3) projects under the program as follows: (1) Verde Creek on Elm Pass Road. (2) Guadalupe River on Lane Valley Road. (3) Guadalupe River on Indian Creek Road. As you recall, we requested number one (1) and two (2) above. We are most pleasantly surprised to find number three (3) included. We had indicated in our request that we would be prepared to proceed on number one(1) any time after January 1, 1988 and on number two (2) anytime after January 1, 1989. No budget plans were made for number three (3). As we are most anxious to have all three projects completed while at the same time staying within our financial capability without too great a hardship, we would submit this proposal to accomplish that goal. (1) The contract on Verde Creek can be executed at this time and timely payments can be made as required therein. (2) We understand that you probably would not be in a position to do the engineering and let a contract on Lane Valley until the summer of 1989. Therefore, we would be prepared to execute a contract on that pro- ject anytime after September 3, 1988. Mr. Bill Tucker Supr. Resident Engineer State Department of Highways and Transportation December 18, 1987 Page Z (3) As to Indian Creek, there of course is time for us to do some budget planning on the project as we understand you would probably not let that contract until 1990. Therefore, we would be prepared to execute a contract on the project anytime after September 3, 1989. We would ask that you accept this as a letter of intent on projects two (2) and three (3). If you like, a more specific letter of intent can be drafted. We thank you for your efforts and consideration in this matter. If we can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to call on me. We will await further word from you as to the acceptability of our proposal. Very truly yours. DANNY R.
