On this the 14th day of September 1987, upon motion made by Commissioner Holland,
seconded by Commissioner Baldwin, the Court unanimously approved a Resolution designating
the period of September 13, 1987 through September 19, 1987 as Constitution Week.
RESOLUTION
.....
WHEREAS, the period of September 13, 1987 through September 19, 1987 has been designated
as Constitution Week; and
WHEREAS, Constitution Week commemorates the signing of the American Constitution on
September 1787, and gives us the opportunity to recall the high ideals and devotion to liberty
of the men who framed our Constitution, and to review the many blessings enjoyed by our nation;
and
WHEREAS, all of us need to be inspired to rededicate ourselves to our country and to the
support and defense of our Constitution, and to an involvement in responsible Citizenship;
NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the authority vested in me as County Judge, I do hereby
proclaim the period of September 13, 1987 through September 19, 1987 as CONSTITUTION WEEK in
our county, and urge our citizens to renewed dedication to the great imperatives of Citizen-
ship, Duty to God and to our Country.

convened in regular session open to the public, at the regular meeting place thereof at the
Courthouse in Kerr County, Kerrville, Texas, with the following members of the Court present,

constituting a quorum, and among other proceedings, passed the following order:
There came on to be considered a Petition for the Abandoning of the Optional County
Road System in Kerr County, Texas, as authorized by Article 6702-1, Subchapter C. Sec. 3.201,„
V.T.C.S., for the purpose of submitting to the legally qualified voters of said County the
determination of the issue described therein.
It appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that said petition was filed and contained 1,
the number of required signatures, it is ordered that the issue of the Abandoning of the
Optional County Road System be placed on the November 3rd, 1987 ballot, along with the
Constitutional Amendment Election to be held.
BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that the County Clerk did verify the signatures of the registered
voters who have signed the petition, and that prior to thirty (30) days before the election
that the Clerk certified in writing that a sufficient number of signatures representing
voters, numbering at least 1070, being 10% of the qualified voters who cast ballots in the
gubernatorial election held in 1986, have petitioned the Court for the Election.
THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER ORDERED BY THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT that an election be held
in Kerr County, Texas on the 3rd day of November 1987, same being after the 30th day after
the day the petition was filed with the Commissioners' Court, for the purpose of submitting
to the legally qualified voters of said County the determination of the following issue, to
wit:
FOR "Abandoning the Optional County Road System in Kerr County"
AGAINST "Abandoning the Optional County Road System in Kerr County"
and that said election shall be held in each Election Precinct as required by law, and by
such persons as designated by the Commissioners Court.
The polls at each of the designated polling places shall on said election date be open from
7:00 o'clock A. M. to 7:00 o'clock P. M.
Said ballot shall also have printed thereon the proposition appropriate to this election
in the exact language stated in Article 6702-1, Subchapter C, Sec. 3.201 (b), to wit:
FOR "Abandoning the Optional County Road System in Kerr County" j
AGAINST "Abandoning the OPtional County Road System in Kerr County"
Notice of said election shall be given as required by Section 4.003 of the Texas Election,
Code and Article 29e, Texas Revised Civil Statutes.
Absentee voting for said election shall be conducted by the County Clerk in accordance
with the terms and provisions of the Texas Election Code.
It is further found and determined that written notice of the date, hour, place and
subject of this meeting was posted on the bulletin boards located at places convenient and

Texas, at least 72 hours preceding the scheduled time of this meeting.
