STEVEN P. SCHRECKENBACH AS DEPUTY SHERIFF OF KERR COUNTY, TEXAS, effective as of August 17th,
1987, at a salary of $16,288.00 per annum, $1,357.33 monthly, $678.67 semi-monthly, Pay Group
17 Step 1, payable out of the General Fund.

N0. 17424 APPROVAL OF PRELIMINARY PLAT OF ELMWOOD
On this the 24th day of August 1987, upon motion made by Commissioner Ray, seconded by
Commissioner Holland, the Court unanimously approved the PRELIMINARY PLAT OF ELM4100D, located
in Kerr county Commissioner's Precinct No. Two, subject to drainage and easement inspection
being made by County Road Engineer, and thereafter approved, and lot sizes to be not less than,
22,500 square feet.
All improvements that are to be made shall comply with the existing KERR COUNTY SUB-
DIVISION "RULES AND REGULATIONS" that became effective January 1st, 1984 and amendments to the
regulations that were approved by the Kerr County Commissioners' Court on April 9th, 1984.

NO. 17425 COUNTY ATTORNEY TO ARRANGE FOR AND VERIFY NECESSARY EASEMENT LINES REGARDING CITY-
COUNTY RADIO TOWER SITE
On this the 24th day of August 1987, upon motion made by Commissioner Holland, seconded
by Commissioner Baldwin, the Court unanimously approved authorizing Gary E. Kersey, Kerr
County Attorney, to arrange for and verify necessary easement lines regarding the City-County
Radio Communications Tower in Kerrville, Texas, with current owner, David Snodgrass, and
negotiate settlement for a fence to be constructed around such facility.

AND FOR A CROSSWALK LOCATED SOUTH OF CAMP MEETING CREEK BRIDGE, DURING HOUR OF 7:30
A. M. TO 8:30 A. M., AND DURING TIME OF 3:15 P. M. 'PO 4:00 P. M.
On this the 24th day of August 1987, the Court heard and considered recommendations by
Gerald W. Menefee, County Road Engineer, for setting boundaries of proposed 20 MILES PER HOUR
SPEED LIMIT in school zone adjoining N:imitz Elementary School and school zone for a crosswalk
located south of the Camp Meeting Creek Bridge, during the hour of 7:30 o'clock A. Iii. to
8:30 o'clock A. M., and during the time of 3:15 o'clock P. M. to 4:00 o'clock P. I4., as set
forth below.
SCHOOL ZONE AT NIMITZ ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
1. Ranchero Road - Begin 200 feet east of the Ranchero Road/Valley View Drive inter-
section and extend to 200 feet west of the west property boundary of Nimitz Elementary School.
2. Loyal Valley Drive/Valley View Drive - Begin 200 feet south of the intersection with
Ranchero Road and end 480 feet north of the intersection of Ranchero and Valley View Drive.
3. George Muck Drive - Beginning 200 feet south of Ranchero Road and extending north to
the North Boundary of the intersection with Ranchero Road.
SCHOOL ZONE FOR A CROSSWALK LOCATED SOUTH OF THE i
CAMP MEETING CREEK BRIDGE:
1. Begin at the south edge of the intersection of Ranchero Road/MOnroe Drive and ending
520 feet south of said intersection.
Upon motion made by Commissioner Holland, seconded by Commissioner Ray, the Court

NO. 17427 APPROVAL OF PAYMENT TO SYLVESTER ORTEGA FOR DAMAGE TO TREES ON PRIVATE PROPERTY
On this the 24th day of August 1987, came on to be considered the claim of Sylvester
Ortega regarding the loss of eleven trees on his property during County maintenance of RED

Upon motion made by Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Holland, with Commissioner
Holland, Ray, and Baldwin voting "AYE", and Commissioner Lich voting "NAY", the Court approvedi
~I by a majority vote that Sylvester Ortega be compensated $750.00 for damage to trees. ~,
'' It is ordered by the Court that the County Treasurer and County Auditor be authorized
~' to draw a voucher on the Road and Bridqe Fund, payable to SYLVESTER ORTEGA, 5422 San Fernando
St., San Antonio, Texas 78237, in the amount of $750.00, in settlement of his claim.

On this the 24th day of August 1987, upon motion made by Commissioner Baldwin, seconded
''by Commissioner Ray, the Court unanimously approved that the Kerr County Road Engineer go ~~
'out for bids for the improvement of roads in Fall Branch Estates up to County standards and,
'',provided such betterment can be completed for $30,000.00 or less, that the County enter into a
''proposed indemnification agreement with San Antonio Savings Association, such agrement to be
approved by the Court and County Attorney's office.
Thereafter, the County is to let a contract for betterment of said roads and upon
'completion, shall proceed to draw against the Letter of Credit No. 8030, dated April 8, 1985,
issued by National Bank of Commerce, and shall take such actions as are necessary to collect
on said letter of credit.

authorization to employ a Deputy Sheriff, motion was made by Commissioner Ray, seconded by
Commissioner Holland, and unanimously approved by the Court approving request, authorizing
the Sheriff to employ a Deputy Sheriff for traffic control, commencing September 1, 1987, at
a salary of $16,288.00 per annum, $1357.33 per month, $678.67 semi-monthly, Kerr County Pay
Group 17 Step 1, payable out of the General Fund.

On this the 24th day of August 1987, upon motion made by Commissioner Ray, seconded by
Commissioner Holland, the Court unanimously approved acceptance of a Gift Deed from ELGIN JUNG
Grantor, for and in consideration of the construction of a county road by Grantee, Kerr County,
Texas, being 5.86 acres, more or less, out of Robert Brown Survey No. 16, Abstract No. 28 in
Kerr County, Texas.
