On this the 28th day of March 1988, upon motion made by
Commissioner Baldwin, seconded by Commissioner Holland,
the Court unanimously approved that the City of Kerrville
be authorized to advertise for bid proposals for a Repeater
Station and Related Hardware for the City~County Ambulance
Contractor, as recommended by the Public Safety Committee.

Attached is a copy of bid specifications for a repeater
station and related hardware for the City/County ambulance
contractor. These bid specifications are a result of
recommendations from the Public Safety Committee. Approval to
go out for bids was given by the City Council at the 3-22-88
meeting. Should you concur with these specifications, please
provide them to the County Commissioners for their approval.

Based on the recommendation of the Public Safety Committee, and as
requested by City Council; staff requests authorization to receive
bids for the purchase of one (1) Transmitter/Receiver-Repeater Station
to be used by the City/County ambulance contractor for ambulance
communications. The repeater will remain under the joint ownership of
the City and County, and will be passed on to future contractors.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Staff recommends bids be accepted based on County concurrence and
funding to be shared equally.

REPEATER STATION
450 to 470 MHz
1.0 GENERAL
The FM two-way repeater base station radio shall be
designed and constructed for voice communications service
and shall operate within the 460 MHz frequency band. The
Repeater Station shall be rated for continuous duty. The
station shall have one frequency transmit and receive
capability, and shall be equipped with a CTCSS Encoder/
Decoder, Repeater circuitry and time-out-timer, power line
surge protectors and service speaker and metering.
Deviation from these specifications must be equal or
better quality and complete.

received by the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 800
Junction Highway, Kerrville, Texas 78028, and then publicly
opened at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1988, in Meeting
Room No. One for
One (1) Transmitter/Receiver - Repeater Station
to be used by the City/County Ambulance Service
in accordance with specifications of the City of Kerrville
which may be secured from the office of the Insurance
Manager/Performance Specialist, 800 Junction Highway,
Kerrville, Texas, 78028, (512) 257-8000, Ext. 202.
The date and time of opening bids shall be clearly marked on
the outside of the sealed envelope. No bids will be accepted
after 3:00 P.M. on the date of bid opening.
The right is reserved as the interest of the City of
Kerrville may require to reject any and all bids and to waive
any informality in the bids received.

required by the standard specifications of the City of
Kerrville.
We have carefully reviewed the specifications and have
acquainted ourselves with the existing and anticipated
conditions that affect the furnishing of said radio equipment.
We understand that if we are the successful bidder, a contract
will be prepared in accordance with the City of Kerrville
standard form. Should we be awarded the above described work
and should fail to enter into a written contract, it is
understood that our bidder's bond shall be forfeited, if one is
required.

bidder and acceptance by the CITY OF KERRVILLE.
