The gee,:-~~a1 concer-sus is in favor of this method of Improving their roads prior to county acceptance for maintenance. A petition was not requested as this step is not necessary should the Commissioners Court approve the issue(s) for the ballot in November. Cost figures were based on Walter Masters bid For Roundabout and Sandy Lanes in West Creek Heights Road District. These roads required widening, additional base, drainage and tree removal and should represent highest possible costs. Length of roads were determined using plats as opposed to actual measurement. I realize that Commissioner Lich wants to limit the payback period to 10 years, however, we are limited to a maximum additional tax rate of $0}.15 per $100 evaluation per year. At this time these two subdivisions do not have the tax base to permit a 10 year payback -new construction in these subdivisions will be taxed with the Special Road District and will contribute to the payback. ti ,j .~ :. .~ e~ :. t A, ,A' ;r. Ray: On September 22, 1987, our Board of Trusttes met in regular session, 201 China Street, Center Point, Texas at 7:30 p.m. During this meeting, r1r. Jake Hensel, representative landowner of Oakridge Estates was present at this meeting to discuss the road conditions in the Oakridge subdivision in Center Point. After much discussion, the Board felt it was necessary to write a letter concerning the road conditions. Mr. Knoy express that due to the entrance of the Oakridge subdivision, the bus has to drive through the subdivision to pick up students. He felt due to the deplorable conditions of the roads, it was causing unnecessary repairs on the bus. The Board feels that this is a very important issue, and hope that it will be looked into as soon as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to call. Sincerely, //~ ~~?r~ ~__~`' W.T.
