CONTRACT SUM Proposal: Contractor agrees to provide all labor, materials, and all else necessary to complete "The Work" for the following: PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND BID ITEMS: The project will be for the rehabilitation and strengthening of the asphaltic pavement and associated work on the sixty foot center section of Runway 02/20. This project will be divided into two (2) Bid Alternates; A and B. Scope of work involved with the rehabilitation of the existing 3960' x 60' runway will be as follows; Alternate "A": Removal of the existing surface, approximately 1.5 inches, by milling or other approved means, tack coat, and then overlaying the milled surface with either a new or plant recycled hot mix asphaltic concrete. Alternate "B": Recycle in-place the top 1.5 inches from the existing surface, using a simultaneous multi-step process including, heating, scarifying, remixing, reshaping and compaction. The top 1.5 inch of material removed will be blended with a asphaltic rejuvenating agent then laid down as a leveling course, no thicker than 1-3/4 inches after compaction. ALTERNATE 'A'- Item 1.
