In our efforts to bring about a transition of the U.G.R.A. Environmental Department to the control of the county, I am responding to certain ques- tions you had propounded to the Court. I would first like to address the salary arrangements. I assume you can discuss these matters with Mr. Whitehead and Ms. Kuykendall. If you think it best, I will be happy to discuss the matter directly with them. The Court, in considering salaries, I feel was influenced by comparative salaries amoung all county employees. Therefore, these offers should not be taken as a reflection on either your capabilities or your worth to the county. I am authorized to offer the following: Lane Wolters $28,800 John Whitehead $22,700 Kathi Kuykendall $14,185 You submitted to us five (5) questions to which I will respond in order. 1) Environmental Health Department will be an independent department reporting to Commissioners' Court. 2) We agree to have your tenure and sick leave transferred to the county. 3) As to vacation time, you will go under the Kerr County Policy. 4) You will be provided a county vehicle cannot be put to personal use.
