MOTION TO ADVERTISE FOR A REGISTERED SANITARIAN TO
HEAD THE KERR COUNTY ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH DEPARTMENT
On this the 13th day of April 1989, upon motion made by
Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Baldwin, the Court
unanimously approved to advertise for a Registered Sanitarian
to head the Kerr County Environmental Health Department.
Said advertisement is to run Sunday, April 16th, 1989 and
Wednesday, April 19th, 1989 and all applications are to be
received by 5:00 o'clock P.M. on May 1, 1989.

Objective:
To ensure the safety of area residents by the prevention and control of safety,
environmental, and health hazards.
Organizational Relationships:

1. Reports to: ~ Director of`I`Environmental Health ~=r~~.
2. Directs: ~~'~;,~ supervise the Administrative Secretary in the director's
absence.
3. Other: Has regular contact with the Texas l~Jater Commission, Texas Department
c;f Health, City of Kerrville Engineering and Public lJorks Departments, Kerr
~.ounty•Commissioners, Parks and l~Jildlife Department. other state agencies,
other departments of the authority. and the general public.
Required Knowledge. Skills. and Abilities:
Knowledge of principles and practices of environmental sanitation. local. state,
and federal laws pertaining to public health, and structure and functions of
public health organizations; knowledge of current social and economic problems
pertaining to public health; knowledge of water well and wastewater disposal
systems; knowledge of flood plain requirements; knowledge of drafting and design
techniques and basic understanding of construction inspections and surveying
instruments; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
with other authority employees and the general public; ability to deal tactfully
and effectively with the public, to express ideas clearly and concisely, to
exercise good judgment in making decisions; and good physical condition.
Certificates and Licenses Required:
Registered Sani_tar,a~_in the State of Texas; and
Valid Texas motor vehicle operator's license or alternate means of transportation.
