~ $s9 m. i COMMISSIONERS' COURT CONVENED 11, 1989 at 10:15 o'clock A.M. the Court having duly opened, had: IN SPECIAL SESSION on August with all members present and the following proceedings were Maxey & Associates and Mike Walker presented the Court with three (3) options for jail expansion. Option 1 was to construct a lower level jail under the Annex, which would be similiar to a dungeon, at a cost of approximately $4,171,000.00. Option 2 was to abandon the existing jail, build a new jail elsewhere, and remodel the existing jail to accommodate offices for a cost from $4,577,000.00 to $4,727,000.00. Option 3 was continued use of existing jail with no renovation and enclose the parking area for offices at a cost of $2,829,000.00. Option 3 was not recommended by ACT. Tim Merriweather and Ray Newman of L & N Investment Company gave a brief presentation of the options available for Kerr County on funding for a new jail. No decisions were made at this time and the expansion program will be put on the next Commissioners' Court Agenda.
