APPROVAL TO PAY THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS
AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION FOR CONSTRUCTION COST FOR
ELM PASS BRIDGE ON ELM PASS ROAD
On this the 22nd day of March 1990, upon motion made by
Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner Holekamp, the
Court unanimously approved payment to the State Department of
Highways and Public Transportation for construction cost for
Elm Pass Bridge on Elm Pass Road.
The County Treasurer and the County Auditor are hereby
authorized to draw a voucher on Line Item No. 15-612-585 for
516,856.96 and made payable to State Department of Highways
and Public Transportation.

This letter is the follow-up to our letter of March 8, 1990
where we alerted you to the fact that Kerr County will be
required to pay an additional amount on the above project
because bid prices exceeded the estimated cost.
The Austin Office has made its final tabulation and the amount
is $16,856.96. This amount will have to be submitted to the
Austin Office, through our office, at your earliest convenience.
An escrow agreement covering this additional cost is being
prepared and will be submitted to your office shortly for
execution.

Bids were received on the above project on March 6, 1990.
The low bidder on the project was about 30°s over the estimated
cost. This overrun will require the County to pay an additional
$10,000, more or less, for the contract to be awarded.
The above figure is approximated since our Austin Office has not
tabulated the exact amount. They will submit this to us along
with an escrow agreement that the County will have to execute.
This letter is to alert you to the forthcoming information from
our Austin Office.
