ORDER NO. 19553 AUTHORIZATION FOR COMMISSIONER HOLEKAMP TO MAIL LETTERS TO PROPERTY OWNERS IN THE LANE VALLEY ROAD/HERMANN SONS ROAD AREA FOR A PROSPECTIVE HIGH WATER ROUTE On this the 31st day of May 1990, upon motion made by Commissioner Ray, seconded by Commissioner $aldwin, the Court unanimously approved to authorize Commissioner Holekamp to write letters to property owners in the Lane Valley Road - Hermann Sons Road area for a prospective high water route. COUNTY COMMISSIONER - PRECINCT 3 700 MAIN STREET ' KERRVILLE, TEXAS 78028 512 896-4636 June 1, 1990 Mr. and Mrs. James Branton 112 E. Lynwood San Antonio, Texas 78212 Dear Mr. and Mrs. Branton: As I'm sure you are aware, the Guadalupe River, when on the rise, creates serious safety problems for residents living in the area of your property. Not only does the rising water create the obvious dangers of the 'low water crossings, but many residents are stranded during flooding without any guaranteed access to supplies or medical facilities. In an effort to resolve these problems, the Kerr County Commissioner's Court is studing a route for a proposed county road over and upon your property. (Connecting Lane Valley Road and Hermann Sons Road.) Although the proposed route will cross your land, it will provide you with a safe and convenient way out of your property. Since we are presently attempting to determine a route which will best meet your needs and which will benefit your property the most, we would appreciate any constructive input you may have. We would like to meet with all of the landowners affected by the proposed route and attempt to work out a route agreeable to all. Please contact Glenn Holekamp at~257-2617 or 995-2620 at your earliest convenience to let-us know a convenient date and time. If you cannot attend we would like for you to send us a letter setting out any specific matters that you would like us to consider,. Thank you for your cooperation and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yo rs truly, ~/!
