ORDER NO. 19558 ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION TU THE "TEXAS WATER COMMISSION TO NOT DECLARE KERR COUNTY A CR.tTICAL WATER AREA On this the 5th day of June 199~i, came on to be considered by the Court the adoption of a resolution to the Texas Water Commission to NOT declare Kerr County a critical water area. Upon motion made by Commissioner Morgan, seconded by Commissioner- Ray, the Court unanimously adopted the following resolution: RESOLUTION WHEREAS: Kerr County is continuing efforts to protect its environment, and, WHEREAS: Recognizing that its most precious natural resource - WATER - must. be sustained and protected, and, WHEREAS: Kerr County has demonstrated its determination to protect our natural water resources through its Waste Water Program -- being one of the foremost in the State of Texas -- managed by the Kerr County Environmental Health Department, and, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That Kerr County NUT be declared a critical water area for purposes of ground water protection. FURTHERMORE: Kerr Caur~ty will request the Texas Legislature to grant regulatory authority to require permits for drilling, completing, or substantial alteration of water wells; require accurate drillers' logs be kept and filed with the County; and require landowners to properly cap unused wells.
