WILSON KELSEY Th1.S letter 15 tO infOl*_m yCAI, and the court, of the existing ~o~st~c enforcement problem that is occuring on Ingram Dam Lake. Wlth BEATRICE CARR PICKENS Amarllo ari increase in boating traffic, safety has becarie a major concern. A R fTONY1 SANCHEZ, JR. Land„ There are two problem areas that the court has addressed 1T7 the past. The first is the swimming area, at the~dam, which is closed to boats. Due to recent high water, the buoy line, at the dam has been washed away making it difficult for boaters to determine the closed swimming area. The swimming area, by order of the court, is the area 100 feet from the dam up stream. The second problem is the designated no wake zone in the river channel above the dam. The channel area has no signs whatsoever that indicate that a no wake speed should be adherred to when approaching the boat launch area. To alleviate this problem I would recommend the purchase of four buoys, two of which would indicate a no boating zone and two would indicate a no wake zone. These buoys are slender and tall, and made of heavy rubber with orange letters on a white background. The buoys are anchored to the lake bottom or river channel bottan with a lame weight and cable. The buoys can be easily detached and removed from the water during flooding. The buoys can be purchased at marine supplies for a reasonable fee. Please see attached bids. Your immediate response to these problem areas would be greatly appreciated.
