The Court further approves the City Attorney as negotiator to effect the purchase of approximately 24 acres of land required for the clear zone off runway 30, with negotiations beginning after receipt of land surveys and appraisals, with the concurrence of the City Council. Part of these funds were identified to acquire land (approximately 24 acres) east of Louis Schreiner Field for clear zone area. The preapplication is now being considered by the Texas Department of Aviation and the FAA for funding in FY-91. Information concerning true acreage and cost of this land is now required. The Airport Advisory Board recommends that the City Purchasing agent contact several local surveyors and several local appraisers to accept proposals for these services and the airport manager to be authorized to act for the Sponsors to commission the land surveys and appraisals. The land appraisal will also require an appraisal certification by an FAA approved appraiser.
