COMMISSIONERS' COURT TO THE JUSTICE OF THE
PEACE, PREC. #5 OFFICE
On this the 20th day oŁ June 1991, upon motion made by
Commissioner Oehler, seconded by Commissioner Lackey, the
Court unanimously approved by a vot• of 4-0-0 to transfer
51800.00 from Line Item No. 10-401-571, Contingency, in
Commissioners' Court to Line Item No. 10-459-460, Office
Rent, in the Justice oŁ the peace, Precinct No. 5 Office, and
to pay office rent in the amount oŁ 3200.00 per month,
retroactive to January 1, 1991, to the Justice of the Peace,
Precinct No. 5.

Sirs:
I respectfully request consideration for an increase in my salary
line item. During the past two months and the two months to come,
the Texas Department of Public Safety has initiated a Step Program
in my area. This program has generated a substantial increase in
revenue for the County. However, to accommodate this increase, my
caseload has tripled from when I agreed to accept the position of
Justice of the Peace, Pct. #5.
In the month of April I submitted a check to the County Treasurer for
$4401.50 and of this amount the county retained $3141.50 and for
the month of May, I submitted at check in the amount of $12,518.14
and of this amount the county retained $9125.65. In anticipation of
the increased revenue, many more hours are being spent processing
cases.
In the alternative, apart-time secretary would be useful. However,
I feel that it would be cost prohibitive and ask the court to consider
my request.

request.
