ORDER NO. 20095 APPROVAL FOR A PAY INCREASE FOR JO ANN JOHNSON IN THE DISTRICT CLERK'S OFFICE DUE TO LONGEVITY AND ADDED RESPONSIBILITIES On this the 11th day of February 1991, upon motion made by Commissioner Holekamp, seconded by Commissioner Oehler, the Court unanimously approved by a vot• of 4-0-0 a pay increase for Jo Ann Johnson in the District Clerk's Office, from Pay Group 10, Step 1, to Pay Group 12, Step 1, based on the hourly rate of S6. 68, effective March 1, 1991, due to her length of time of employment and added responsibilities. F ..,, '~~ ~ `` LLL ,,= t ~> Linda Uecher District Clerk, Kerr County 700 Main St., Kerr County Courthouse Kerrville, Texas 78028 X512) 257-4396 February 6th, 1991 TO THE HONORABLE COUNTY JUDGE AND THE COMMISSIONERS COURT: I hereby respectfully request a Salary adjustment effective March 1, 1991, for Jo Ann Johnson from a 10/1 to 12/1. Jo Ann (also known as Jody) has been employed in my office for almost 3 years with no salary increase even though I have requested it every year. No, Jody is not a part-time employee, and I have no funds in part-time line-item. She is a full time employee who is paid at an hourly rate and works 5 hours every day. I made this arrangement with her in order to save the County some money. She performs a vital duty in this office in that she puts ALL Dist. Crt. Records on microfilm. Correctness is critical in that any errors on her part may handi- cap the entire functions of our office because we would be unable to locate any record we are searching for upon demand. We have not the time nor the personell to have to worry about errors, and Jody is very accurate and eliminates these problems for us. This will not increase my salary line-item total for the 1990-91 budget year. See exhibit "A" . I regret not being able to appear in person before you, as my presence is re- quired in Austin on Monday to testify before the House Judicial Affairs committee in favor of a bill introduced by District Clerks that if passed, will generate thousands of dollars annually for the county in increased Court Costs and would generate costs previously waived in cases filed by the Attorney General, which in our county are many. I feel this is very important to the County and since I am a working member of the District Clerk's legislative committee and this bill is set for hearing at 2:30 P.M. on Monday, my presence is necessary. Please accept my apology and I beg that my absence not affect your decision. It is my opinion that a precedent for this decision was set at a January meeting.
