Commissioners' Court and County Judge FROM: Patricia Dye, Kerr County Clerk ~~ SUBJECT: Making a full-time position part-time; reclassifying three (3) positions; and, up- grading four (4) low paid deputies from 10 and 11 level up to 12 level, which is the starting salary. I have two (2) openings in my office at this time. One opening is an 11 level, deputy in charge of Beer and Wine Licensing, filing State and Federal Tax Liens, etc. The second opening is Senior Bookkeeping Deputy at an 11 level. I propose not to replace the full-time deputy in charge of Beer and Wine, etc. The Senior Bookkeeping De- puty will take on the added job of Beer and Wine, etc.part-time. The Land Dept. will take on the filing and searching of State and Federal Tax Liens and Abstract of Judgements. The remaining salary of the Deputy in charge of Beer and wine of $10,171.58 will be used to place $2800 in my part- time deputy salary to allow for a part-time deputy to work no more than 19 hours a week; and, $-9;~9-3'to be spent up- ~ ~55 grading deputies that are in the low salaried positions to reflect 12 level is the starting salary in comparable of- fices. The part-time deputy is experienced as she is an ex-employee and will need only minimum training of Beer and Wine paper work, etc. When she is not working the Senior Bookkeeping Deputy will do the Beer and Wine paper work. I sincerely trust that each of you will agree with me on the above changes, as this is finally treating my employees in a fair manner. ~~-c~ Vic: a~ 1. Asst. Dept.
