Kerr County Volunteer Fire Departments
Dear Fire Chiefs:
Recently you received a copy of the County's proposed contract with
Volunteer Fire Departments. Hopefully you have had an opportunity
to go over the contract and may have some questions or concerns
regarding parts of the contract or intentions of the contract. To
work out any differences there may be, we have scheduled a
workshop for Monday, November 18, 1991, at 6:00 P.M. We will
attempt to have the Assistant County Attorney, Stan Reid, available
to discuss with you the details of the contract. We ask that the Fire
Chief or his appointee represent the department before the
Commissioners' Court.

Re: County Contract with Department

Since VFIS provides contractual liability coverage under your
general liability policy, it is a requirement that copies of
all written agreements be submitted for prior approval. This
is in an effort to control the Contractual Lability Exposure
for your Department.
VFIS has reviewed the copy of the proposed contract between
your department and the county. The hold harmless does not
meet with the Company's approval,
Page 2, section 8 indicates that the department shall
indemnify and hold harmless the County from any and all
suits of any nature, for any and all acts, or ornmisions
of any party.

you provide the County, not any and all suits of any nature.
