'Z~lyy'I The Court met with Mr. Leonard Odom for a second interview and ask how he would feel about working with a part-time ?ngineer. Mr. Odom said he could see no problems as long as the Court clarified who has what responsibility so that the workcrew knew who was in charge. He stated the engineer would be a helpful tool to give advice, but he would like to be 1.n charge as Yar as management goes. He said he could yo to work on Monday, March i8, 1y91 and his starting Salary would need to be around 534, ~~VJ. ~eliD. Next the Court discussed how many miles of road each precinct would be able to seal coat rn the next budget year. At a cost of Sti,Oad.00 per mile the Guurt determined they should be able to seal coat approximately L~0 miles total. Commissioner Horgan said h? had ask each foreman to prepare a list oY the roads in their area and to list them according to their need 2or repair. The Court ask Mr. Farmer about. his qualifications and ii he would be inter?steel in the position lull time as well as part-time. Mr. f•'armer replied he would consider either way. Commissioner Holelcamp told the Court he would like to call all the local. engineers listed in the telephone directory and see i£ anyone locally was interested in contracting on a part time basis to do Kerr Counties engineering work. Il no one locally is interested then the Court would have to go outside the County to hire an engineer on a part time basis. 1'he Court agreed that the number one priority was to hire an engineer first, either lull time ox- part tune.
