precinct # 1, T. H. Lackey, Commissioner Pr^ecinct # ~, Glenn
K. Holekamp, Commissioner Precinct # 3, and Bruce Oehler,
Commissioner- F'r^ecinct # 4, and the following proceedings were
had;
Disc~_~ssion of the jail overcrowding and possible solutions
were addressed by District Judge Steve Ables and Distr^ict
J~.~dge Emil Kar^1 Prohl and Co~.mty Court at Law Judge Spencer
Brown, J~_~dge A61es addressed the Cour^t with the possibility
of having the Annex part of o~_ir coot^tho~_ise be used for- the
,jail and the Offices presently occupying the premises could

move to another location within the County to eliminate the
overcr^owding in the ,jail. The Schreiner One Center is up for
sale and could be one solution to our problem but I think the
p~_iblic needs to know what we are tr^ying to do and that we are
trying to do what is best for- everyone concerned. Vario~_rs
members of the public were present as well as Pob Haynes and
var^io~.rs members of the Jail Committee. The study done of the
.jail several years ago also stated that the County was in
need of more .jail space.
