Consider authorizing Glenn K. Holekamp, and Stan Reid to investigate and negotiate
with the City of Kerrville for the provision of r~'lS Services to County Residents.
Commissioner Holekamp addressed the Court asking for sane direction in which to begin
to look for a Contract with the City of Kerrville and wanting the Court to give sane
imput as to what they thought is needed for Kerr County and it's residents. The
Court would like to look at several options and will rely on Commissioner Holekanmp's
and Stan Reid's recommendations. The Court would like to see the hest alternatives
and have them submmmitted to the Court for consideration.

Consider filing suit seeking extension of the filing deadline for Elected Offices.
The Court spoke to both Party Chairmen, Maly Nell Davis, Democratic Chairman, and
Danny Edwards, Republican Chairn~an, about joining in the suit. The Texas Supreme
. Court does not have a precleared plan for the redistricting, and the filing deadlines
"~ would be extended fourteen (14) days with a hearing to be held after the Christmas
Holidays. Both Chairn~n felt that Kerr County would not need an extension of the
filing date, but the Court decided to wait until January 2, 1992 to make a decision
on whether they should join in the suit.

Discussion of the Courthouse Canputer Mainframe pre-requisite workshop was presented
by Tawny Tomlinson, the County Auditor. 6Ve had six members of the public present and
four Officials or representatives of their office present.
Our immediate problem is space in the present system. Our system is fran the Software
Group System. Our software is an antiquated system and not many vendors will operate
with our. present system. At this time it would be advisable to stay with our present
system and buy sere space and look into researching of other systems and what it
would cost in the way of maintenance, hardware etc.

Consideration of filing suit seeking extension of the filing deadline for elected
offices after hearing from Austin. Mary Nell Davis addressed the Court saying she
had been advised by counsel to remain with January 2, 1992 at 6:00 P.M. deadline.
The Courts position would be to assist the party chairs with anytkLing they may have
questions on but if the chairs feel there is not need for the filing deadline to be
extended the Court would go with their recommendations.
