Catm~issioner Holekamp addressed the Court asking for sane direction. in which to begin to look for a Contract with the City of Kerrville and wanting the Court to give some imput as to what they thought is needed for Kerr County and it's residents. The Court would like to look at several options and will rely on Commissioner Holekamp's and Stan Reid's recommendations. The Court spoke to both Party Chairmen, Mary Nell Davis, Democratic Chairman, and Danny Edwards, Republican Chairman, about joining in the suit. The Texas Supreme Court does not have a precleared plan for the redistricting, and the filing deadlines "` would be extended fourteen (14) days with a hearing to be held after the Christmas Holidays. Both Chairmen felt that Kerr County would not need an extension of the filing date, but the Court decided to wait until January 2, 1992 to make a decision on whether they should join in the suit. We had six members of the public present and four Officials or representatives of their office present. Our immediate problem is space in the present system. Our system is fran the Software Group System. Our software is an antiquated system and not many vendors will operate with our present system.
