STATE OF TEXAS )( ~( COUNTY OF KERR )( TAX COLLECTION CONTRACT This Tax Collection Contract is made on this ~ day of 1992, by and between the County of Kerr (County) and the Hunt Independent School District (School), as follows: 1. Term. This Contract shall begin on ~~l.y ~+ 199 and shall terminate on June 30, 1993 , unless sooner terminated as provided hereinbelow. 2. Tax Collections. The County agrees to collect on behalf of the School all ad valorem taxes, penalties and interest due, or which may become due to School during the time this Contract is in effect, and, in addition delinquent taxes, penalties and interest for taxes assessed prior to this contract. The obligation of the county hereunder is to bill and collect current and delinquent taxes, penalty and interest, but the obligation hereunder does not include the obligation to appraise properties nor to assess them. 3. Records. The School, without further cost, shall at any time be permitted to inspect and copy all records, including appraisals, assessments, bills, statements computer tapes, any and all other material in the possession of the County in any way pertaining to the appraisal and assessment of School properties Page 2 of 3 and the billing and collecting of School taxes, penalties and interest. in the event of the termination of this contract, the School shall be entitled to have all such records and materials, or copies thereof, turned over to the School. 4. Termination. Either party may terminate this contract by giving at least days written notice of such termination. 5. Compensation. The County, as compensation for the obligations assumed hereunder, shall be paid one per cent (1~) of the current and delinquent ad valorem School taxes, penalty and interest actually collected on behalf of the School. 6. Unusual Litigation. In the event that litigation arises with regard to the appraisal, assessment, billing or collection of any School tax (other than tax delinquency suits) then both County and the School, if parties to such litigation, shall bear their own respective attorney's fees and expenses. 7. Remittance of Collections. The County Tax Collector shall deposit all taxes, penalties and interest collected for the School, less compensation to the County, in the School's designated depository bank. The County shall provide an itemization showing all collections and adjustments with the remittance. 8. Reports. All tax collection reports required by Iaw shall be included within this agreement. 9. Delinquent Taxes After Termination. After expiration of this contract, County shall furnish School an itemization of all Page 3 of 3 delinquent taxes, penalties, and interest, and County shall have no further obligation to collect same.
