Subject: Monitoring of conventional septic system in caliche soils
An opportunity has presented itself to monitor a new septic system in caliche
soils.
New construction is proposed for Lot 20 of Lake Ingram Estates. The soil is a
fairly uniform caliche. The lot size and location is such that any possible
impacts that would affect nuisances, public health, or water would be minimized.
What is requested from the Court is a consensus to proceed with this idea as a
monitoring, demonstration and evaluation project for studying wastewater disposal
and treatment in caliche.
The septic system would be installed under the routine site evaluation and
permitting requirements.
An agreement would be reached between this department and the owner; that this
system is allowed to be installed under certain criteria, and that we can enter
the property as needed to monitor and evaluate.
