RE Recommendation on Saw Mill Road
The Court, County Attorney, County Surveyor, Kerr County Road & Bridge crew,
and I have spent many hours and funds over the past year trying to clarify the
right-of--way for Saw Mill Road in Precinct 2.
After several surveys, the last drawing was completed by Lee Voelkel,
February 6, 1992. This drawing with field notes was presented to the
Gerstenbergs at a meeting March 31, 1992. At which time they rejected the
proposed survey lines for right-of--way. I suggested they reconsider it for
two weeks and call me if they changed their minds. It has been almost a
month and we have received no response.
°~' In my opinion the County has done everything possible to settle this right-of-
way dispute, and it is unfair to ask the citizens of Kerr County to continue to
support this dispute when the only citizens affected by the road are the
family members who cannot agree on the right-of--way lines.
Therefore, my recommendation to the Court is that the County abandon or
discontinue maintenance of Saw Mill Road and consider it a county road for
public access.
