I trained Ph.D. graduate students under Dr. Dain in testicig techniques and supervised their initial efforts. I was hired under special contract to train my replacement when I left the medical school, particularly on ttie Ralph Reitan Battery. At Calker, I was involved in tlce supervision of five (S) masters level in- terns, for approximately four (4) cnonths with each individual. When my super- visor, Judith B. Keith, P1c.D. took over the running of the Federal Project, I was solely responsible for direct services to teachers at the Day School for the Deaf and had weekly group supervision times with that population. This task later involved some training in the Public Schools. During this same time, as consultant to the Deaf-BLind Project, I was involved with Training and supervision of their staff members, plus involved in grant writing and development of the Azusa Devel.opn:ental Scale. I also performed a wide range of psychological services le; iirclividual and family therapy, psychological evaluations, and group play therapy. A major part of my consultant function caith the State of Arkansas Pilot Deaf Project Children's House of Learning was development and evaluation of Parent and Professional Groups. I provided the major portion of the evaluation data for an article published ici Peabody Journal of Education, Spring, 1975 on Children's House of Learning. T was also asked to be involved in statewide seminars to explain and publicize the project. As a result of the above three {~3) positions, I was also involved in budget planning, appearance at lel;islative committees, and presentations to interested groups and politically important persons. Tvly college teaching experience in Dallas dealt with Child Development and Basic Psychology and consisted of course planning, lecture, testing, and supervision of major papers. In Los Alamos, I ran groups, f~otl~ at the High School with adolescents and at a local church for adults. I lrad frequent speaking engagements locally to talk on behavioral management and sc~x education. I also taught a mini-course in 1`tarriahe Preparation in the liihh school. I also handled the more complex emo- tional probelms and did indiviclu~il and family therapy, as well as teacher consultation. ~Iy initial consulting work witlc tlce Indian Health Service consisted of testing, some therapy, and supervision of Indian caseworkers and consultation with the Indian School. With the Santa Fe Public Sclcc~~,ls, I served on Admissions Committee for Special Education and taught portions c,f graduate courses from University of New liexico and College of Santa Fe. I suh~~rvised three (3) graduate students in psychology and held regular training sessions for teachers, in addition to counseling, public relations, and psychological evaluations. My most unique experience was preparing for and living tlrrorr~;h a three (3) month HEW investigation of Santa Fe Public Schools. I lcell~~~~l ~~rrr ~li.rector prepare budgets and proposals f. or new programs 1974-1975, 1975-1.97~i, and appeared frequently before the State Legis- lative Budget Committee with Ilifrl in Santa Fe. DESCRIPTION OF WORK E,YPERIEfII,E CONTINUED: Another valuable learning experience in Santa Fe was my appearance as an expert witness in various civil court trials and my becoming familiar with the Legal System. The work with the multi-cultural environment in New Mexico was invalu- able. In the Texas schools, I was responsible for testing, counseling, and supervision of teachers. I ran and attended frequent workshops in interpreting guidelines for Special Education with parents, teachers, administrators, and Board Members over a two (2) county area. 1 was involved in budget and program planning. I also did in-service training ici psychological theory and application at various schools request. In Denver, I was involved in a longitudinal evaluation study of the recipients of the Acoupedic Approach of Deat Education with its Founder, Doreen Pollack. I did individual psycY~ological. evaluations, helped write proposals, and planned parent groups, and consulted with the Listen Foundation members, At Gulf Bend, I delivered direct clinical services and was involved informally in supervisions of interns, fellow staff members and teachers. My primary con- centration was children and family therapy. Again I have some experience in the legal forum as an expert witness. PIy private practice consisted of direct re- ferrals who came from Dr. Haskovec. My ~~` ~J~~~position as a 1~ienta.i. Health Consultant for the Santa Fe Indian Hospital Santa Fe Service Unit, cu[isiSCs of delivering a wide range of psychological services to Taos and Picuris Pueblos. rfy work consists of direct therapeutic intervention, consultation with clinic staff, outside agencies and tribal programs and staff. I also provide periodic services to persons from these two villages at other setting ie; Santa Fe County Jail, New Ploon Lodge, Santa Clara Rehabilitation Center and the Santa Fe Indian Hospital. Currently, I am running groups for the school with behavior problems and stress management groups for the Taos Tribal employees, and the Taos Clinic staff. I also offer clinical supervision for the Alcoholism Counselors for Taos and Picuris Pueblos. I have also had approximately 15 ap- pearances as an expert witness in state and federal civil and criminal court cases. ~ t ! I ! I ti L' ~ ~ ~'~ i ~ ~ r ~~ c~ L._ v. _ fl 1,~' :Y"~~ l/ li lt~t ~
