Dear Judge Stacy:
The terms of office of two members of the Board of Fire
Commissioners, District No. 1, Rev. Hubert Palmer and myself, will
expire on December 31, 1992.
To fill Rev. Palmer's vacancy, we recommend Truman R. Lyles,
a resident of Ingram Oaks for over two years, who is a volunteer
for the position. Mr. Lyles came here from Weslaco, Texas, where
he has had thirty years of experience as a Fire Chief and Fire
Marshall. He served as District Chief of the Lower Rio Grande
Valley Firemen and Fire Marshalls' Association and is certified as
a Fire Marshall by the State of Texas. Throughout his career he
has also taught basic fire fighting and fire equipment techniques
at Texas A & M.
My own term also expires on December 31, 1992, however, if the
Court approves, I am a volunteer to fill my own vacancy.
