ARTIC _~ PURPOSE

The purpose of this organization sha.l7/ to work with and under the dir-
eeti~n of the gerr Oounty Oommiasienera Court who accepted title to the
Turtle Oreek School property located on FM 1273, gerr Oounty, Texas,
from the gerrvi'l1e Independeut School District:
s. Schoolhouse Tract: accepted on April 13, 1977, to xit "convey-
ance shall be valid so long as auoh property is used as community or
public meeting place for residents of the Turtle Oreek Oommunity area
and their gusaL•s or organized groups of auoh residents and their gues•k:.

shall only be valid so long as such property is used and maintained as
e cemetery for the internment of present, former, or future residents
of the Turtle Oreek Oommunity area or the desoendonts of such residents
without discrimination against any auoh resident because of race, color
sea or national origin and in the event such property should cease to
be used at any time for the aforesaid purpose that title to auoh pro-
perty shall automatically terminate and such title shall auto-
matically revert to gerrville Independent Sohool District, its suc-
esa~ra or assigns without any requirement of re-entry." The gerr
County Oommisaionera Oourt agreed in this same action to assume main-
tenance of the Oemetery Grounds.
ART207,E I~ MEMBERSHIP
Membership in this organization shall consist of present and former
residents and/or present property owners of the Turtle Oreek Oommunity
Area or the descendents of auoh residents xho have passed their eigh-
teenth birthday.

Tae funds of this organization shall be derived from voluntary contri-
butions. Two signatures are required on all checks dispensing funds
belonging to the organization general fund. The signatures of the
President, Secretary, and Treasurer should be recorded as alternates
at the bank.
A.RTIOLE V BUSINESS OE ORGANIZATION
yeotion 1. The business of the organization shall be conducted by a
Doard of Directors consisting of seven persons elected at the annual
meeting by the organizations President, Vice-President, Secretary,
Treasurer, and three directors.
Section 2. The Board of Directors shall have authority to sot for the
Oenter and shall:
a. supervise the affairs of the Oenter
b. make reoommendatione to the Oenter Group
o. transact business of the Oenter, and
d. designate priorities of pro~eote and improvements.
Section 3. The term of office shall be for two years and not more than
?c•ur consecutive years in the same capacity. The President, Treasurer,
ani one Director will be elected in even numbered years, with the Vioe-
?:eaident, Secretary and two Directors being elected in odd numbered
years.
Section 4. The Board of Directors will have authority to fill any
vacancies caused by resignation or failure to serve.
section 5. Officers shall assume their duties immediately after cer-
tification of the election.

Section 1. There shall be an annual meeting of the entire membership
on or about the first Tuesday in January after Jan. 2nd. Regular
meetings of the entire membership shall be held at suoh other times

Section 2, The Board of Directors shall meet at the Center prior to
the annual meeting. They shall also meet at suoh other times se

Section 2, The Vice-President shall:

b. take and record accurate minutes of the proceedings of all

d. preserve in a permanent file, all records and letters of value
to this Ceuter and its officers,
Section 4. The Treasurer shall:
a. have charge of all monies of the group and shall give a finan-
cial report at all meetings,
b, collect all ecntributions from members giving a proper receipt
therefor,
c. see that the signatures of the President, Secretary and Treas-
urer are registered a~t the back as alternate signatures.
d, pay a'-1 regularly authorized bills up to $5C and make withdraw-
als of monies frcm the General Fund of the Center in excess of $~
on advance approval by general membership art recommendation of the
Board of Directors,
e. receive, record an3 pay out all monies of the refreshment fund
or other Special Funds as may be approved by the group.
f, keep an itemized record, in a permaneut file, of all receipts
and expenditures.

unauthorized usage of the buildings.

ARTICLE % AN'.EIIDMENTS
These By-Laws may be amended at any regular meeting by a two-thirds
vote provided notice of proposed amendment has bean given in writing
ten days prior to the meeting where the vote is tr, be taken with 'che
proposed amendments to be submitted to Secretary 40 days•t~he da-te,~-~
of vote so proposal may be mailed or distributed to all members.
ASR?ICLE XI PARLIAMENTARY PROCEDURES
Roberts Rules of Order, Newly Revised, shall serve as parliamentary
authority :or the Turtle Greek School Community Center.
