,2o~jso, I ,~ !-~ Item N 2.18 Clarification of Personnel Policy 5.01 Mr. Odom addressed the Gourt informing the Court of an employee that is working Part-time, but has asked if he may contribute to the retirement system due to him working 900 hrs or more? Policy Jf 5.01 states: A regular part-time employee is employed to hold an authorized position that involves, on the average, fewer than 40 cork hours per week. He or she is entitled to vacation and sick leave on a proportional basis; and is elegible for retirement if working more than 900 hours per year; but is not eligible for insurance benefits. After a thorough dlscuasion with the Court and the County Treasurer the decision was made to not have Policy N 5.01 change. Item i 2. 19 Clarification of Personnel Policy 8.03 hr. Odom addressed the Court on an Employees Vacation Time. Personnel Policy ! 8.03 states: County Employees are encouraged to take regular vacations at least annually, No vacation leave benefits may be used by a new county employee during the initial six months of employment. Upon completion of the initial six-month probationary period, vacation leave benefits, figured from the date of employment, are credited to the employee. Thereafter, vacation leave is earned and credited to the employee's leave record the first day of each month. Years of Employment 1st through 10th yr 11th through 20th yr 21st year and beyond Vacation Days 10 days per year 15 days per year 20 days per year The Courts decision was to leave the policy as ie and address this policy when the new manual is completed.
