an9s~.~ Item # 2. 1 Presentation of funding Justice Center: Mr. Holland addressed the Court informing the Court that the figures show that the the county is gx•owing again. He is making a recommendation to accessing the county sales tax. He also said that Harvey Hildebrand had learned of another approach that would not effect the county tax rate. It is an add-on of the County Sales Tax, possibly 1/4 percent limited for a specific term for specific purpose. Suggesting that 1/4 percent would be adequate to amortize the funding of a Justice Center. The funding plan should include other critical needs. (a). Adaptation of space within the present courthouse to absorb unaccommodated off-premise offices. (b>. Repair the windows in the old part of the present courthouse. tc). The purchase of a central vote counting machine and additional precinct counting machines. (d). Other critical needs known to members of the Court. After listening to Mr. Holland, the Commissioners would like ~' to talk to Harvey Hildebrand more on this topic. Item # 2.2 Jeanne West addressed the Court informing the Court that Commissioner Oehler is serving on the Kerr County River Corridor Committee. The Committee is to act as liaison between the Commissioners' Court and the groups with interest in or authority over the Guadalupe River throughout Kerr County. Item # 2.3 Mr Bill Robinson addressed the Court informing the Court to consider funding mobile telephones for the Parks and Wildlife Department. After a thorough discussion with the Court, Mr. Robinson is to see about getting funds from other sources. Mr. Robinson then is to come back to the court with this information at another meeting. PAGE E32 Item # 2. 4 County Judge addressed the Court informing the Court on the Contract with Di Stefano and Associates Inc. for architectural design of Juvenile Facility. After a through discussion with the Court, Commissioner Holekamp is to call Di Stefano and Associates Inc. to see what their cost would be for the three different ideas: (1) Off-site New Facility (2) Remodel the current Jail f3) Build in the basement ORDER NO. 20957 APPROVAL OF CONTRACT FOR JUVENILE SERVICES WITH THE MEDINA CHILDREN'S HOME, MEDINA, TEXAS On this the 8th day of June, 1992, upon motion made by Commissioner Holekamp, seconded by Commissioner Oehler, the Court unanimously approved by a vote of 4-0-0, to approve the contract for Juvenile Services with the Medina Children's Home, Medina, Texas and authorization of the County Judge's Signature on the contract. Item # 2. 6 Consider names for appointment to a committee to establish Rules and Regulations or guidelines for Courthouse grounds. Commissioner Holekamp addressed the Court informing the Court on some possible names for the committee. Some of the names as follows: Judge Stacy, Jim Reno, Frank Speakman, Bill Holly--American Legion, Bill Tucker--Highway Department, Mike Guerrero--Insurance someone who sees the Courthouse everyday, and someone from the Garden Club. Commissioner Holekamp is to get back to see if these people are willing to serve on the committee. PAGE 633
