~- ORDER NO. 20998 APPOINTMENT OF ELECTION JUDGES AHD ALTERNATE ELECTION JUDGES FOR A ONE YEAR TERM FROM AUGUST 1, 1992 - AUGUST 1, 1993 On this the 13th day oŁ July 1992, upon motion made by Commissioner Lackey, seconded by Gommissioner Holekamp, the Court unanimously approved by a vote o! 4-0-0, to appoint the recommended list of Preslding Judges and Alternate Judges according to Sec. 32.001 of the Election Code as submitted to the Court ae shown on pages 162 through 167, Volume 2, Record of Election Judges for Kerr County, Texas. (See Exhibit A) ITEM Y 2.6 Consideration and discussion of calling for audits of the Volunteer Fire Departments receiving Kerr County Funds. Commissioner Morgan stated that the Contracts we have with the various Volunteer Fire Departments states: All books and records of Department shall be open for inspection during normal business hours to any member of the public, the County Auditor, and such persons as may be given such authority by County, including members of the Volunteer Fire Department Advisory Board. Judge Stacy stated that the Volunteer Fire Department would need to make the books available and would need to get with the Auditor to make a schedule or appointment for auditing. Any questions would be referred to the Auditors' Office. Henry Foote - CAG addressed the Court stating that the public oŁ Herrville South Area are strong contributors to the Volunteer Fire Department. The question has been asked for the records of the contributions received to date, but have received no response to date. He feels that the public has a right to know where the money is being spent and how much is being donated. PAGE 661
