Discussion of the Juvenile Detention Center Facility and
Proposed Grant.
Danny Cortez addressed the Court where we stood as far as the
Juvenile Detention Center Facility was concerned? The Task
put before them was to get grants but without a specific plan
on where the Juvenile Detention Center would be they can't
get any grant money. Judge Stacy Stated that the Court had
looked at the Juvenile Detention Center in Del Rio and Hondo
and were very impressed with the facility. The plans that
had designed the center did not include office space and this
was something we would have to consider. We are going to go
out for architectural proposals. Peggy Braun asked the
question of what would happen after the contract ran out on
the old Juvenile Detention Center? Judge Stacy responded
that we may be able to get an extension for the Center.
No further action was taken at this time.
