MEMORANDUM TO: Commissioners' Court Leonard Odom, Jr., Road Administrator DATE: February 2, 1992 RE Special Projects Recently we met with Department of Transportation (Bill Tucker and Dan Fry) about the project on Indian Creek. At this time they are trying to resolve two items: 1) The new law which went into effect September 1992 about obstructions in the 100 year flood area and the zero tolerance involved in it. 2) Concern from their district office about not having guard rails on the structure. With this in mind, Bill said that if this was resolved today, it would be one year before we started construction on the bridge. Therefore, the money allocated in this year's budget for the bridge can not be used. .~ I ask the Court to consider reallocation the money to the special projects underway: 1. Beech Road 2. Elm Pass 3. Stoneleigh In like manner, we ask that the money from G Street also be put to these projects. We are trying to work out an arrangement with the city to take over maintenance of G Street. Until this is done, we do not think expenditures of this amount should be used until some idea of future construction from the city is confirmed. Our department also wishes to use part of this money to pay for the design of Goat Creek Cut-Off. Estimated at $ 12,000.00 We have the following amounts of money to be used. Indian Creek $65,000 G Street 3 00 Gross Total $98,000 Goat Creek Cut Off - ~ 2 , 0 0 0 Net Total $86,000 We propose to spend $43,000 on Beech Road in Precinct 4, and the other half in Precinct 3 and Precinct 2 on Stoneleigh.
