KERB COUNTY
COMPUTER HARDWARE UPGRADE

This recommendation to acquire computer hardware for Kerr County
resulted from a Commissioners Court decision to move the Tax
Collector to the Kerr County Administrative Building and the need
to improve efficiency of the Courthouse system.
Central to a decision on the kind of hardware is software. The Tax
Collector has ex~imined software different from that supplied by The
Software Group (TSG) in terms of cost, support and quality. I have
obtained similar information from software vendors and user. Our
findings do not. present any reason to discontinue using TSG
software.
With the recommendation to u;,e TSG software, we must acquire
hardware that will drive the software and that will also utilize
RIOr11tOr:, and printers now in use. We also need a hardware that
will give us expandability, duality system software and flexibility
in an open systems environment.
