COMPUTER HARDWARE UPGRADE
3-9-93
This recommendation to acquire computer hardware for Kerr County
resulted from a Commissioners Court decision to move the Tax
Collector to the Kerr County Administrative Building and the need
to improve efficiency of the Courthouse system.
Central to a decision on the kind of hardware is software. The Tax
Collector has examined software different from that supplied by The
Software Group (TSG) in terms of cost, support and quality. I have
obtained similar information from software vendors and user. Our
findings do not. present any reason to discontinue using TSG
software.
With the recommendation to use TSG software, we must acquire
hardware that will drive the software and that will also utilize
monitors and printers now in use. We also need a hardware that
will give us expandability, quality system software and flexibility
in an open systems environment.
