AP'P'ROVAL DF AMENDMENT TO COUNTY RABIES AND
ANIMAL CONTROL REGISTRATION AND FEE SCHEDULE
On this the 6th day of November 1994, upon motion made by
Commissioner^ Lackey, seconded by Commissioner Lehman, the
Co~_-rt unanimously approved by a vote of 4-0-0, to amend the
fee schedule as submitted to the Co~_tr^t.
FEE SCHEDULE
Registration Fees:
Registration must be done at the time rabies vaccinations are
given or renewed.

IMPOUND/QUARANTINE FEES:
Any animal not kept in conformity with the Rabies and Animal
Control order and State Law may be impounded. To retrieve an
impounded animal, the owner must pay a fee. This fee is in
addition to veterinarian andlor^ animal shelter^ fees.

SUBJECT: AMENDMENT TO COiTNTY RABIES & ANIl1iIAL CONTROL
REGISTRATION & FEE SCHEDULE.
I recommend that once an animal is registered with the county, if it is picked up as a stray, we do
not charge the owner for the first offense, provided it is wearing a current rabies tai. By doing this
the owner will feel as though he is getting something for his money, and look at it as an "insurance
policy". In addition, it will enable this department to identify the owner quicker, especially for
bites and in cases where the animal is found to have killed livestock, or caused other damage.
If the court approves the recommendation, it is requested the fee schedule be amended to reflect
the change.
Attached is a fee schedule as it would look like if approved.
