Commissioners Court:
At present, only five of 198 Kerr County employees
take advantage of the county savings and investment
program. Reasons for this may range from lack of in-
formation, inability to save any portion from low pay-
ing positions, or not understanding the generous ad-
vantages of compounding interest in investing even
small, regular amounts in a qualified tax deferred
program.
County employees are eligible to participate in sec-
tion 403b or 457 tax deferred savings programs avai-
lable and in place at Kerrville State Hospital and
Kerrville Independent School District. These entities
have for years named Lincoln National as an authorized
vendor of qualified plans to respond to employee re-
quests for sound investment programs.
My request is not to be a sole vendor or to replace any
existing programs; I request the approval of the court
to provide any additional services requested by employees.
In 1992 and 1993, Lincoln National was rated number one in
annuities sales nationwide. As a registered representative
of Lincoln National ~_nd T.NC Equities Sales, I am licensed
by the Securities and `Exchange Commission to provide ~.hese
services to our county employees.
