ORDER N0. 21800 APPROVAL OF JANIE BRINKMRN TO FILL. VACANCY ON THE CHILD 5F.RVICES BOARD On this the 25th day of January 1994, upon motion made by Commissioner Oehler, seconded by Commissioner Lehman, the Court unanimously approved by a vote of 4-0-0, to approve Janie Brinkman to be placed on the Child Services Board to fill the vacancy on the Board. Item No. 2.5 ~ISOO,f Present information regarding manpower for operating metal detectors, to be paid for from Court House security fees to be collected by the County Clerk and the District Clerk. Sheriff Kaiser made a gresentation to the Court stating why the need for metal detectors are needed in the Courthouse and the manpower needed to operate such detectors. Rusty Hierholzer gave a presentation of recent cases where they were not used and the out come of such cases. Sheriff Kaiser feels that with the additional monies collected by both the District clerk's Office and the County Clerk's Office this service ~ should pay for itself or a portion of it. The Commissioners' ~- Court can set a fee of $5.00 for all Civil and Criminal Cases but the County Clerk can add an additional fee of 51.00 per instrument filed in her office for security purposes. The Court asked the Sheriff to get some figures together on the additional manpower and possibly contracting with a private entity for the manning of the metal detectors and come back to the Court on February 1, 1994, with her recommendations. As far as the fees are concerned this is to be discussed on February 8, 1944, at the Regular Commissioners' Court Meeting.
