RPPROVAL AGENDA Item 2.1 Consider approving Resolution to separate the Rlamo Services Delivery Area and the Workforce Development Ar-ea from the City of San Rntonio and Rexar• County. ORDER N0. 22986 APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION TO SEPARATE THE RLAMO SERVICES DELIVERY AREA AND THE WORKFDRCE DEVELOPMENT ARER FROM THE CITY OF SRN ANTDNIO AND BEXAR COUNTY On this the 13th day of November 1995, upon motion made by Commissioner Holekamp, seconded by Commissioner Oehler, the Court unanimously approved by a vote of 4-@-@, to approve the ..e resolution to separate the Alamo Services Delivery Area and the Workforce Development Area from the City of San Antonio and Bexar County. RESOLUTION WHERERS, since 1983 the Rlamo Service Delivery Rrea (ASDA) for the local Job Training Partnership Act (JTPR> employment and and tr^aining program has existed as an area comprised of the City of San Rntonio, Bexar County and the eleven surrounding counties: Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson Counties; and WHERERS, because of this action the RSDR will only be comprised of the City of San Antonio and Bexar County; and WHERERS, the eleven surrounding counties are r-e presented by the Rural Area Judges Committee of the Alamo Rr•ea Council of Governments (RRCOG>; and WHEREAS, on July 26, 1995, by unanimous vote, the Rural Ar^ea Judges Committee voted to establish a rur^al ser^vice delivery ,o area and a workforce development area separate and apart from the City of San Rntonio and Bexar• County; and WHEREAS, the eleven counties have a population of 3@1,786 and ar-e eligible under ,7TPA law, anti HB i863 (State of Texas, to become its own ser-vice delivery area and wor•kfor•ce development area; and PRGE 197 .- WHEREAS, currently there are 35 service delivery ar^e as and 29 workforce development ar^eas and in both instances an area larger and smaller than the ASDA have been allowed to have local determination separate the rural and urban ar^ea; and WHEREAS, this action is consistent with JTF'R Federal Law and other metropolitan areas in the State; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: Kerr• County hereby approves the establishment of a rural service delivery and wor•kfor•ce development area separate from the present delivery and workforce development area separate from the present Alamo Ser^vice Delivery Area and Workforce Development Rrea.
