Commissioner' Oehler explained that the Indian Creek Bridge
F'ro.ject was X12, 036. 3c aver budget and X60, 000. 00 had been
budgeted for^ this year^. Put r^elocating phone lines and land
appraisal costs wer^e not determined. Leonard Odom stated that
last time they met he did not know then^e was a deficit in Line
Item No. 15-611-55.x. The q~_iestion arose as to whether ar not
the Schr^einer^ Road Tr^ust Fund could be used for this pr^a.ject?
The fund is to be used for purchasing right of ways, road
impr^ovements, and maintenance of r'Dads in Commissioner^s'
F~recinct # 1 and # 4. Tommy Tomlinson, the auditor explained
the road and br^idge sur'plus had been depleted from X800, 000 to
half a million dollars. He tries to maintain the half a
million dollar^s in the account. If the Schr^einer^ Road Tr^~_~st
Fund has sufficient funds the county has access to it. The
inter^est is twice or thr^e'e times the amount that was in the
original amount of the Fund. If we deplete the Road and
Bridge Sur^pl~_~s then we wo~_~ld have to bor^r^ow money for^
emergencies. Judge Denson explained that we would have to
abide by the pur'pose of the Schr^einer^ Road Tr^ust F~_-nci which
was set ~_~p for^ the p~_~rchase of the right of ways, r^oad
improvements, and maintenance of the r^oad in Commissioner
F'r^ecinct # 1 & 4. He r^eq~_~ested that the Auditor go to the
Tr^ustee of the funds for^ appr'oval and r^epor^t back to
Commissioners' Cour^t at the next meeting.
