JOB DESCRIPTION: ANIMAL CONTROL FACILITY MANAGER CLASS NO: PAY GROUP: I6 JOB TITLE: Manager OCCUPATIONAL CATEGORY: SecretariaUClerical FLSA: Non-Exempt OBJECTIVE: To efficiently operate and maintain the county animal control facility. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 1. Reports to: Local health authority. 2. Directs: Oversees basic duties of shelter workers. 3. Other: VG'orls with A.C.O.'s, veterinarians and the general public GE?v'ERAI. STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This is a responsible position covering all aspects of the operation and function of the animal shelter. PAY GROUP: NiA JOB TITLE: Facility Worker OCCUPATIONAL CATEGORY: Service/Maintenance FLSA: Non-Exempt OBJECTIVE: To provide daily cleaning and maintenance of the animal shelter facilities. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: 1. ReQorts to: Shelter manager, local health authority. 2. Directs: Does not supervise employees. 3. Other: Works with other shelter employees, the general public, and animal control officers. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work involves daily cleaning of all facilities, feeding and handling of animals: minor maintenance and repairs: assist the manager as needed and assist the public with their animals. EXAMPLES OF WORK: Daily cleaning and sanitizing of all animal holding areas. Daily feeding; watering, handling of animals. page 2 Provide general maintenance, minor repairs, and custodial service to all area of shelter. Assist the manager with the public and their animals. Assist the manager with his duties as needed. Assist animal control officer in care of animals including euthanasia. Perform such other duties as may be assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to accomplish work assigned within time period allotted. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction and request clarifica- tion when needed. Other: Will perform other duties as assigned and~'or required to maintain department operation and animal control faciliri•. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work involves investigating reports of animal bites and stra~• animals, administering and enforcing rabies and animal controls as defined and des- cribed in the Rabies and Animal Control Order and the Texas Health and Safet<• Code and provide assistance as needed at the animal control facilitz-. Work is performed within established procedures and policies involving sound ,judgment and initiative. All aspects of work performed is under the direct supervision of the director. Provide information. public education, and promote public awareness regarding rabies and animal control. Enforce rabies and animal control order to secure corrections including filing charges for violations.
