Sirs:
Last years Writing Contest sponsored by the Kerrville Writers
Association was an outstanding success. Out of over 130 entries,
the members of the KWA selected First Prize winners in two
different age groups, as well as second/third place and runners up.
This year we are again sponsoring a similar contest, for Fifth
through eighth grades, which will be open to all Kerr county school
children regardless of public or private/home school status.
One of the high points of last years contest was the public
recognition during Commissioners Court of the wi.nxaers. County
Judge Robert Denson officiated in handing out the awards, and the
children and their parents were thrilled by official recognition of
jobs well done.
We are asking that the Commissioners Court be available for us
again this year, during the December 9th session, for the Second
Annual Awards Presentation. year, we'd appreciate
having a time slot around :30 -- 12:00 o avoid long absences
from schools. If this is ossible, please notify us at 896-4327.
