.~ THE CITY OF KERRVILLE, TEXAS ca November 18, 1996 TO: Carl Browning, Kerrville Independent School District Bob Denson, Kerr County John Mosty, Upper Guadalupe River Authority SUBJ: Notification of City of Kemille's consideration of expansion to Reinvestment Zone #1. Dear Sirs: The city of Kerrville will be holding a Public Hearing and considering an Ordinance at the November 26, 1996 City Council meeting to allow for the expansion of the current Reinvestment Zone in order to include an additional 54 acres into the zone boundaries. This property is currently owned by Reagan Lehmann and a 12 acre portion of the tract is being considered as a location for the PACE Corporation's proposed 80,000 square foot manufacturing facility. Various tax incentives are being considered as an incentive to encourage PACE to build their plant here. Besides the PACE project, this property would offer opportunities for further commercial and manufacturing development. Should the city adopt this proposed ordinance and enter into a tax abatement agreement each taxing entity would have 90 days from the execution of that agreement to either abate taxes at the same level as the city or to not abate taxes. There is no penalty for choosing not to abate. I will keep you advised of the city's action on this matter as it takes place. I have included a map of the zone boundaries along with the proposed inclusion. Thank you in advance for your help and should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Ki k McCarley Director of Human Resources and Economic Development cc: David Oehler, Kerr Appraisal District 800JUNCTION HIGHWAY • KERRVILLE,iEXAS 78028069 • 210/257-8000 ~~~ Qn November 26,1996, the Kerrville City Council will hold a P SOD Junct gnat ds regular session at 6:30 p.m. in the City Ha11 Council Chambers, Highway,Kerrville,Texas78028 toconsideranordinancetoreseolrexislincrzone expansion to the presently existing Reinvestment Zone.
