Several items need a decision from the court including finding: 1) Computer The shelter has a computer from the tax office. It is not usable until there is a color monitor, software purchased, and a programmer hired to load and set-up programs. Tommy Tomlinson has been working on this several months now but we don't have a working computer yet. 2) The front gate and fencing has yet to be installed. Is there plans still for this to be done? 3) The washing machine has gone out once already. Anew motor has been installed. Due to the daily use and the washing of heavy materials, (towels mostly) it would be better if a new heavy duty machine is used. It is requested that $490.00 be put into capitol outlay for that purchase. 4) Earlier this summer there were plans and ideas for some outside kennels that did not materialize. Since then the fenced service area in the back is used for putting dogs outside and while runs are cleaned. Due to the chipped asphalt surface it is very difficult to impossible to clean up after the animals and keep the area clean and odorless. Request moneys be put into capitol outlay to pour a cement slab in this area and erect some kennels. For the concrete slab approximate cost is $4,900.00. This would provide easy cleaning and better service and utilization. For the kennel runs fence panels can be purchased and assembled. A 6' X 8' X 4' kennel is $187.00 Additional panels may be purchased to assemble several runs. Four runs would be approximately $7$0.00 Some moneys for all of this could come from fees collected for the Animal Control Program. The Texas Health and Safety Code allows for this.
