Controls and indicators are easily reached and viewed from the dual, center facing, seats. High productivity in all phases of asphalt compaction. Dual amplitude and variable frequency reduces compaction time and number of required passes on even the toughest jobs. VIBRATORY SMOOTH DRUM COMPACTORS J~ _.,' FEATURES DRUM AND VIBRATION __ COMPONENTS Both C766B and C778A drums are manufactured with a single heavy steel wrapper, welded onto a strong center support and precision machined for smooth work surface compaction. WATER SPRAY SYSTEM COMPONENTS PVC spray bars, with quick disconnect spray nozzles, continue the supply of clean water coming from the tanks and pumps. Each water spray nozzle assem- bly contains a high quality removable brass nozzle. Water spray, at both drums, is protected from wind drift by a standard hinged water spray shield. Both the C766B and C778A use noncorrosive water spray system components. Essential to the system are the two (2) polyethylene water spray tanks and pump assemblies with stainless steel pump inlet strainers. The exclusive HYPAC designed vibration mechanism assemblies contains few, simple parts which efficiently generate both high (3000 VPM -C766B, 3100 VPM - C778A) and low (3200 VPM) drum amplitudes and forces. Front and rear drum vibration amplitude/frequency controls are dash mounted for independent amplitude/frequency adjustment to meet stringent rolling requirements and excellent operator view. Water spray system control is simple and easy with the dash mounted controls. The system can be operated as desired to meet job requirements; with, or without, the standard "water saver" function. HYPAC C766B, C778A FEATURES OPERATOR'S COMPARTMENT Operator's compartment features "human-engineered" design. Dual, center-facing, seats position operator for visibility, control and comfort. CONTROLS The operator selects travel direction and speed, vibra- tory drum frequency and amplitude and automatic "Start/Stop" of vibration. Dash controls include: switch for two-speed transmission; throttle; vibrator "On/Off'; vibrator amplitude/frequency-for each drum; secondary/parking brake; water spray and 6 position water spray time delay switch. Gauges monitor engine and hydraulics. Indicator lights alert operator when filters need service. PNEUMATIC ISOLATION Radial pneumatic isolators give air isolation between drums and frame. Vibratory energy is transmitted to the work and not to the machine. Pneumatic isolators withstand vibratory strain better than conventional, solid- rubberblock isolators. There's longer life, less downtime. Damage to isolators during tie-down in transportation is eliminated. HITCH Ported hitch eliminates hose damage. Hydraulic hoses, electric lines and fuel supply line pass through hitch. Torsional stress and tightly packed hose bundle are eliminated. Design pro- vides 12° oscillation on either side of level; 35° articulation to either side of center. Self-lubricated bearings are maintenance-free. Steering cylinder, above the hitch, is away from asphalt build up. VIBRATORY SYSTEM High-output/low-mass mechanism has oil bath bearings for long life, reduced maintenance. Drums, 66" wide (C766B) 78" wide (C778A) x 48" diameter, are machined to produce smooth compacted surfaces. High and low amplitude and frequency (3000 VPM [C766B], 3100 VPM [C778A] in high or 3200 VPM in low) are controlled from either operator seat position. 3200 VPM frequency reduces compaction time and number of passes. VIBRATORY SMOOTH DRUM COMPACTORS WATER SPRAY SYSTEM Both the C766B and C778A use two, entirely noncorro- sive, 115 gallon polyethylene tanks. PVC spray bars, with quick-connect spray nozzles, need no adjustment and are protected from wind by a spray shield on each drum. Water is double-filtered through a fill port strainer and 100 mesh screen at each pump inlet. The water saver system permits accurate control of water flow to both drums. ENGINE The engine is located low in the frame for ease of service and operator visibility. Transverse mounting directs air, heat, and noise away from operator. The Cummins 4BTA 3.9 engine is turbocharged and aftercooled for respon- sive power with exceptional fuel economy. Rated at 125 HP ~ 2200 RPM, the engine has reserve power for the most demanding jobs. HYDROSTATIC DRIVE Full hydrostatic drive, with aloes-speed/high torque motor on each drum, delivers smooth speed and directional changes. Two speed ranges offer infinitely variable speeds: From 0 to 5 MPH in foes range; 0 to 10 MPH in high range. Wet multi-disc, secondarylpark brakes are an integral part of each motor. HYDRAULIC FILTRATION Oil is filtered with ahigh-efficiency, 7-micron filter to help extend life of hydraulic components. The state-of-the-art filter is easily accessible. A light on console signals need for filter service. Less downtime helps increase productivity. SERVICEABILITY There are no "grease daily" fittings on the C7666 or C778A. All checkpoints and filters are within easy reach. Pressure test ports, built into the hydraulic system, have standard capped fittings for quick, effortless servicing.
