RESOLUTION WHEREAS, dro~_rght conditions in Texas have focused more attention on weather inadification as a way of pr^oducing additional rainwater and thereby alleviating the drought and WHEREAS, these efforts have involved cJ.o~_td seeding, commonly r'e'fer^r^ed to as r^ain enhancement;and WHEREAS, research and act~_~al cl.o~ad seeding have demonstrated that properly designed progr-~ams can increase seasonal rainfall beneficially, and WHEREAS, the Edwards Rq~_tifer Rutharity will f~.md participation for one year- and allow participants to evaluate the program, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT: The Kerr Co~_rnty Commissioners' Co~_rrt hereby agrees to participate in the Weather Modification program for the Edwar^ds Rquifer A~_ithority Area in portions of The Rlamo Rrea Co~_tncil of Governments' and Capital Area Planning Co~_incils~ region, appoint a representative to serve on an Oversight Committee and hold a p~_iblic meeting to disc~_tss the state of clo~_id -- seeding technology for enhancing r-<~in.
