BACK-UP RC&D RC&D has revised it's dry hydrant program for Kerr County. The Kerr County RC&D committee has contacted most of the volunteer fire departments in the county and some of the subdivisions in the county and there is strong interest in participating in this revised program. Under the new program, water tanks (from 5,000 to 10,000 gal.) are available with a kits to retrofit the tanks. The program provides up to $500.00 per location and this is enough to cover the cost of hauling the tank and the kit. There is no cost for the tank itself. The county will need to provide a location to store the tanks until they are installed and pay the initial invoice, the full amount would be reimbursed in about 4 to 6 weeks. The RC&D committee has tentatively requested 10 to 20 tanks to get the program moving.
