W'e are notifying you that the 25' by 30' concrete storage area on the west side of the building 1s proposed to be covered with a metal roof which will he attached to the existing matal building. Participation at the Community Recycling Center is up 50°~o and is continuing to increase with the additional day of operation afforded by Kerr County's contribution to operating expenses. The amount of recycled materials diverted tiom the Iandfll is steadily increasing also, extending the Lie of the landfill and keeping the cost of solid waste dispnSal down for all o1'Kerr County. WHEREAS, City and County executed the Lease Agreement far the purpose of permitting the operation by City of a community recycling center for the benefit of City and County residents; and WHEREAS, the City has obtained various grants for the purpose of constructing capital improvements on County's property which require the City to continue operation of the community recycling center for a period beyond the termination of the initial lease term of the Lease Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City and County find it mutually beneficial to resolve any uncertainty regarding the City's continued use of the property which is the subject of the Lease Agreement for the period required by the City's various grant agreements; NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration ofthe following promises and conditions, City and County agree as follows: 1. Section 2 of the Lease Agreement shall be amended to read in its entirety as follows: 2. Initial Term and Renewal. The initial term of this Agreement shall commence on January 1, 1995, and shall terminate December 31, 2004. Thereafter, this Agreement shall be renewed automatically for successive periods of five (5) years each, commencing on January 1, 2005, unless notice of termination is given either by the County or by the City at least 120 calendar days prior to the commencement date of the renewal term in question. 2 City and County agree that except as provided herein, all other provisions of the Lease Agreement shall remain in full force and effect.
