RE: Streets within Center Point City Limits
The attached list shows the roads within the City of Center Point are on the State of Texas list of roads
maintained by Kerr County.
At this time we ask that you consider the following:
Kerr County receives funding for the number of miles of road maintained. A copy of the
Certification at 503.86 is attached.
This Certification is dated August 2, 1997, and will not be due for renewal until
August 1998.
2. Center Point has 5.81 miles of roadway now maintained by Ken County.
-- 3. If the road mileage for the County drops below 500, there is a reduction in funding for
Road & Bridge as well as the General Revenue. We do not know the amount for the
General Revenue, but the amount for us is insignificant. The auditor could give you a
better accounting of these funds.
4. Ail bridges within the City of Center Point remain on the off-site bridge program with
TXDOT. Should they need repair the County would be expected to participate much as
they did on Indian Creek in Ingram, or Water Street in Kerrville.
5. The Road & Bridge department is on a 7 year program for seal coating roads. The roads
within the city limits of Center Point are due to be resurfaced in the 97/98 budget year at an
approximate cost of $20,000 for material. Since the County has received funding for the
roads in Center Point to date, do we resurface them?
6. 5ho~l~i the Court decide to remove these roads from State Certification, we will need a
court order to do so.
