We have two employees that have already left, Raymond Behrens will retire March 31, 1997, and Clarence Stehling's doctors do not expect him to return to work. That leaves us with 18 crew members and 2 office staff. We have realigned some of the employees to fill the open positions. We would like to try a department realignment for a while and see how it works without replacing the four employees. However, there are some changes that need Court approval. 1. Gail Matter to swing crew supervisor. For taking the added responsibility we ask that you move him from a 16/3 to an 18/1. 2. Tommy Bridges to take Raymond's responsibility as first response for the central area and wear the 911 beeper for emergency calls. For taking the added responsibility we ask that you move him from a 12/8 to a 14/5. 3. Truby Hardin to take added responsibility of inventorying, ordering, and making signs. She is now a 15/3. We ask that you allow us to transfer $ 475 (15-611-111) to (15-600-105) to fund Truby as a 17/1. 4. We ask that you transfer $12,000 from our salary line item (15-611-111), to our part-time line item (15-611-108) for the current budget year. This will allow us to use part-time help with signs, mowing, etc. By budget time; we will know if there is a need to fill any of the 4 positions , or if we can continue to use part-time help. As you can see from the attached list, by upgrading current employees and not filling the four positions, we will save $88,501.03. • Proposed Rea ignment of oad ~ Bridge osition Step/Grade Budgeted Salary Proposed Increases ,ppt.
